Relocation Spotlight – Indianapolis
One of our Midwest recruiters, Ryan, outside of the Indianapolis Artsgarden.
The first city in our new series, Relocation Spotlight, is the crossroads of America: Indianapolis!
Indianapolis is my favorite city in the Midwest; an under-the-radar town that has everything the heart could desire, as well as arguably the friendliest population in the country.
For sports fans, Indy has the largest single sporting event in the Indy 500, as well as both the Pacers and the Colts. For fans of arts and culture, the Indianapolis Arts Museum is the 9th oldest in the country, and the Indianapolis Artsgarden (pictured above) is frequently referenced as one of the coolest places to get married in the country.
One thing everyone loves: food! Milktooth is one of the best spots for breakfast you can find anywhere. The 1933 Lounge’s shrimp cocktail is a life changing experience that should be on everyone’s bucket list, and the best old-fashioned I’ve ever had was at the Spoke & Steele. Mass Ave is a collection of amazing food and drink, with Bru Burger serving up some rather creative burger recipes and the Ball & Biscuit serving some of the best cocktails there are. Afraid a landlocked state won’t have any seafood? See the salty geniuses at Brugge Brasserie for the most amazing mussels of your life. Craft beer fan? There are more options available than you could ever need, but TwoDEEP brewing, Sun King, and Thr3e Wise Men Brewing really stand out. An honorable mention goes to Bluebeard, for being one of the best at all of the above, while paying tribute to local son and American icon, Kurt Vonnegut.
There are family friendly activities aplenty as well. The Indianapolis Childrens’ Museum is the largest in the world, and is fun for both kids and adults. The Indianapolis Zoo is one of the best in the Midwest, and the Canal Walk is fun for people of all ages.
Most importantly, Indianapolis is full of opportunities for insurance professionals, with a surplus of opportunities in agencies, companies, and wholesalers. While Butler University has a fantastic Insurance and Risk Management program, many of the grads end up leaving the state, leaving a lot of jobs up for grabs. Glassdoor also recently listed Indy as the 3rd best city in the whole country for job opportunities in the US!
If you’re looking to make a move to the Midwest, there can be no better city than Indianapolis, both for the growth opportunities and the culture. If you still have any doubts, contact one of our Midwest recruiters today for more information!
